The United States Geological Survey, Biology Division, Marine and Freshwater Ecology Branch, Alaska Science Center intends to award a noncompetitive procurement to the University of Victoria, Centre for Biomedical Research, Canada for 200 Atlantic Salmon 16K Microarray Version 2.0 slides. These microarray chips each contain cDNAs representing 16,006 genes from expressed sequence tags of Atlantic and Pacific salmon species. The laboratory at the University of Victoria developed the microarray chips from the cGRASP research and is involved with ongoing quality control and optimization. The Government intends to award this requirement noncompetitively in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) and the procedures of FAR Part 12, entitled, "Acquisition of Commercial Items." Other interested concerns having the ability to furnish these services shall submit a capabilities statement to the Contract Specialist no later than the closing date of this announcement. This is NOT a Request for Quotes (RFQ); no written solicitation will be issued. This may represent the Government's only written notice of this procurement.
