NOTICE OF INTENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 7, intends to award a sole-source contract to Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC, 1 Zeiss Drive, Thornwood, NY 10594-1996, for the following items: item: #4109004236671000 APOTOME FOR EXISTING ZEISS AXIO-IMAGER Apotome 2 Widefield Optical Sectioning for Imager. Consists of: (1) Apotome Slider (2) Interrated Grids (3) Power/Control Box (4) Calibration Tools Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation for offers. However, parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product to Pamela H. Lewallen, Contracting Officer, at [email protected] by August 1, 2014, no later than 10:00am EST. All capability statements received by closing of this notification will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 339113 with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees.
