The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS), the Department of Defense Medical School and Health Sciences University, hereby announces its intent to award to a sole source purchase order to Amersham Biosciences in Piscataway, NJ to provide a AKTA FPLC FRAC950 w/ control unit and several other parts need to accomplish the task of chromatographic separations based on a variety of sample characteristics, such as molecular weight, net surface charge, hydrophobicity, while retaining biological activity. The statutory authority permitting this award under other than full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304 (C)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1 that authorizes USUHS to award contracts when only one source and no other supplies or service will satisfy agency requirements.
