The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2), James J. Peters VA Medical Center (JJPVAMC), Bronx, New York, in support of the Northport VA Medical Center (NVAMC) and JJPVAMC intends to procure on a sole source basis (IAW FAR 13.106-1(b)) from Biomerieux, Inc. The NVAMC and JJPVAMC have a follow-on requirement for use of VIDAS equipment that is currently in use at both facilities and to purchase reagents used on these instruments. The intent is to procure through the sole authorized distributor, which is the OEM, Biomerieux, Inc. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 334516 with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,000 employees. The FSC code for this procurement is 6550. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation document exists for this requirement. Parties interested in responding to this notice shall submit technical data, including cost, sufficient to determine capability in providing the same product. The capabilities statement must provide clear and unambiguous evidence to substantiate the capability of the party to provide the required supplies and/or services. All capability statements received by closing of this notification will be considered. A determination not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Based on the above information, it has been determined that the only company authorized to distribute, maintain and provide reagents for this instrument is Biomerieux, Inc.
