NOTICE OF ITENT TO SOLE SOURCE. This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 5.101 requiring dissemination of information for proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract and is not a request for competitive quotes/proposals. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 22, located at 4811 Airport Plaza Drive, Long Beach, CA is issuing this Notice of Intent (NOI) to inform industry contractors of the Government s intent to execute a Sole Source Delivery Order under FAR Part 8, specifically FAR Part 8.405-6(a)(1)(B) and (C), Only One Available Source. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Federal Supply Class (FSC) is 6515, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. The Small Business Administration (SBA) size standard for this sector is 1,000 Employees. The intended Contractor is Omnicell, Inc located at 590 E. Middlefied Road, Mountain View CA 94043. Place of Performance is the VA Long Beach Health Care System, 5901 East 7th Street, Long Beach, CA 90822. The medical center currently has Omnicell cabinets and components that are used in the pharmacy. These are leased systems which have been in place for two years. Omnicell is no longer providing equipment through a lease. We are buying out the equipment that we currently have and will be purchasing equipment from now on.  This notice of intent is neither a formal solicitation nor a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be honored. No award will be made on the basis of unsolicited quotations or offers received in response to this notice. Any response to this notice must show clear and compelling evidence that the responding company can provide the same items/services, and that competition will be advantageous to the Government. The intent of this synopsis is for informational purposes only. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this action based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
