The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), University Drive C, Pittsburgh PA 15240 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Carl Zeiss Meditec Inc., 5160 Hacienda Drive, Dublin,CA 94568, for the following equipment: Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT 4.0 Core High Definition Spectral Domain Image acquisition modality and review application. This is currently the sole FDA-approved device that provides tomographic images with scan speed of 27000 A-scans per second, scan size of 10x3mm or 16x6mm optical resolution with axial/depth of 18um and laterial/transverse of 60um, high speed, high resolution, full width Anterior segment imaging and biometry with complete angle and Iris visualization at once. Further, the Cirrus HD-OCT 4.0 is fully DiCom compatible with a built in integration for VA's CPRS and VISTA (national) computing systems and integrates with all other eye equipment used for diagnostic purposes in the eye clinic and in the operating rooms. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties, i.e. vendors who believe they can provide equipment which is equivalent to the Cirrus HD-OCT 4.0 in terms of capability, technical specifications, and full DiCom compatibility, may contact the contracting officer and present descriptive literature on (their )proposed equipment. If a technical/clinical review by VA indicates the equipment to be equivalent to the Cirrus HD-OCT 4.0, then a Request for competitive proposals will be issued and any/all equivalent equipment will be considered.
