Solicitation Number: VA-256-12-Q-1571 Notice Type: Intent to Sole Source The Department of Veterans' Affairs VISN 16 Network Contracting Activity (NCA) intends to award a purchase order on a noncompetitive basis to CareFusion 209, Inc., for the acquisition of one (1) VikingQuest NCS/EMG/EP Portable Base System 4 for the VA Medical Center 921 NE 13th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104 The award of this sole source contract will be made to CareFusion 209, 1850 Deming Way, Middleton, Wisconsin 53562 on FSS Contract number V797P-4345B. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition is implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). The parts and systems, that are the focus of this procurement, will fully replace the capabilities of the current Viking 4 EMG machine and safely and accurately capture past data and reports previously generated by the Viking 4. System purchase also includes installation, operator manual, service manual, and one year parts and labor warranty. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract will be based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This Intent to Sole Source neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however responses received on or before July 24, 2012, at 1:00 pm Central Time will be evaluated. Offers responding to this notice must be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer and at a minimum include brochures, company literature in addition to a list of three references from similar VA facilities that are currently using your product and services.
