The Pacific Regional Contracting Office Korea Cell at 121st Combat Support Hospital (CSH)/Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital (BAACH), Korea intends to award a sole source contract to GE Healthcare for purchase Trophon EPR. Trophon EPR is only available from GE Healthcare as they are the only distributor of Nanosonics Ltd. In order to maintain compatibility with existing government-owned equipment, Trophon EPR is the only one that can meet the government's current need. Trophon EPR is available in the US exclusively through GE healthcare. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1(a), which authorizes the Government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
