This proposed contract action is used for Orhopedics Department for Total Hip Arthroplasty and Total Knee Arthroplasty surgeries, consumables are compatible and specific to the patients of Naval Medical Center San Diego that is schedule for implant on May 27th 2011. The Naval Medical Center San Diego intends to solicit with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b). The source is Stryker Orthopaedics, CAGE Code: 9H084, NAICS: 339112. Justification: As required by FAR 13.106-1(b), the Contracting Officer has determined that Stryker Orthopaedics device is the only company that manufactures and distributes the supplies that is compatible with equipment currently used by NMCSD. IAW FAR 5.207(c)(15)(ii), all responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The Government will only consider firm, fixed price quotations. The attached solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through FAC 2005-51.
