This is a notice that the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1), a sole source purchase order with Tecniplast USA, Inc., 180 Gordon Drive, Exton, PA. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. VISN 21 San Francisco Veterans Affairs Animal Research Facility (ARF) has a requirement to procure additional ventilated rodent caging equipment to accommodate the increasing animal population. The products purchased must be compatible with the existing VA-owned Tecniplast Caging System. More than 97% of the existing cages currently in use at the ARF are Tecniplast and can not be accommodated in any other rack system. Other rodent cages and equipment on the market are not compatible with the existing Tecniplast system.
