The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division, has a requirement for Sirona Cerec Connect DoD Portal Support. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Sirona Dental, Inc. operating as an Other Than Small Business located in Long Island City, NY under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a single source, only one source reasonable available.

Sirona Cerec Connect is a technology that allows dentists to transmit digital dental impressions electronically to a laboratory for production. The U.S. Army Dental Command (DENCOM) currently utilizes the Sirona Cerec Connect DoD Portal on a limited basis. DENCOM expects to significantly expand the use of the Sirona Cerec Connect DoD Portal in the next year and requires support from Sirona Dental, Inc. to successfully achieve their objective. The Sirona Cerec Connect DoD Portal is a proprietary technology which was developed and is available only from Sirona Dental, Inc. In addition, Sirona Dental, Inc. is the only vendor who has the properly trained and certified personnel capable of providing the support required. A change in vendors would require full replacement of the current portal as well as the related software and clinical hardware. This would result in a significant disruption to service member treatments and would be highly cost prohibitive for the Government.

The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339114. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 3843 and the Small Business Size Standard is 500. This is not a Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
