Sources Sought Air Combat Command Langley AFB is in the process of determining the acquisition strategy to obtain Reduced Oxygen Breathing Devices (ROBD). The requirement is for a device that will more safely, effectively, and efficiently train aircrews in the symptoms and effects associated with hypoxia. The objective for this acquisition is to procure a ROBD suitable for use by the US military operational community. The word suitable implies a device that is low cost when mass-produced, portable, durable, reliable, simple to operate and maintain and has low man-hour and monetary maintenance requirements. The government expects to make an award on or about 15 Sep 03. This acquisition will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) on or about 15 Aug 03. Interested parties should provide any comments via e-mail to this office. The Air Force will consider and respond to all inputs received. Industry response is encouraged to ensure all parties have maximum opportunity to participate in this acquisition.
