SUBJECT: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services can satisfy agency requirements, it is the Government's intent to award a sole source to Abbott Molecular, Inc. 1300 E Touhy Ave. Des Plaines IL, 60018-3315 for the purchase of PLEX-ID consumables for use with a Abbott Molecular PLEX-ID Analyzer System. Failure to purchase the identified, brand name items would result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty of the analyzer system. A solicitation document (No. W81XWH-11-T-0616) will be published on FedBizOpps and will include a redacted copy of the sole source justification. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
