The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center (LSCDVACM) intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with OptiMedica Corporation. This proposed contract action is for the purchase of a Pascal Photocoagulator, (pattern scanning laser) for which the Government intends to accomplish using commercial item procedures in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12 and in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, of other than full and open competition. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. The VA believes that OptiMedica Corporation is the only company that can provide this equiptment. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 7 days (which equates to August 6, 2007) from the date of publication of this announcement. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information may be sent to the Contracting Officer by emailing [email protected] on or before the date indicated herein. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with OptiMedica Corporation for said equipment.
