Background
The PAPR system and PAPR Cartridges are devices that are vital tools to safely provide protection for VA staff in order to safely decontaminate patients prior to being admitted for treatment. It provides protection against Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear agents, who can potentially compromise the health of staff but also emergency room operations. The PAPR system and PAPR Cartridge system is a vital tool that is used in many other VA hospitals. This technology is critical infrastructure that needs to meet our clinician s and patients needs.
Project Scope
James J. Peters VAMC is looking to add 7 PAPR systems and 16 PAPR Cartridges. All devices will allow James J. Peters VAMC all hazard team volunteers to effectively protect themselves while providing patients of interest with the best practice decontamination approach as possible.
There will be a total of 7 PAPR systems and 16 PAPR Cartridges purchased. The PAPR System and will have Butyl Hood, Blower, Battery, Quick Lock Waist Belt, Flow Meter, (3) CBRN Cartridges, CBRN Backpack. The 16 PAPR Cartridges will be, Threaded, PK6.

As well as meet NIOSH Cap 1 requirements against stringent test chemical agents; high efficiency particulate literation (99.97%)
