The Southern Arizona VA Health Care System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc, 700 Orthopaedic Dr., Warsaw, IN 46581 to acquire orthopaedic knee and hip implant systems on a just-in-time basis, delivered the date of the scheduled surgery. The proposed action for which the government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source is under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.=20 The reason justifying this sole source procurement is: the government believes that only one responsible source can provide the implants on a just-in-time basis that will satisfy the requirement. Any firm that believes it can furnish the items above in the manner described is encouraged to give written notice to the Contracting Officer.=20 Supporting evidence must be furnished, in sufficient detail, demonstrating the ability to comply with the above stated requirement.=20 All responses received within 10 days of the date of publication of this notice will be considered. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
