The Department of Veterans Affairs, James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VISN 2 South) intends to award a short term, interim, sole-source, firm fixed price award to Quidel Corporation in accordance with FAR Subpart 6.302-1. The award will be effective April 1, 2019 through September 30, 2019. The acquisition sought is an interim award that will cover 6 months of reagents, consumables, supplies needed to produce a cost-per-reportable result (CPRR) and for the continued usage of contractor-owned equipment currently on-site at VISN 2 South Medical Centers. VA personnel utilize the equipment and reagents to perform patient troponin/CK-MB testing. The NAICS is 334516 with a small business size standard of 1,000 employees. The current contract with Quidel Corporation will expire on March 31, 2019. This interim contract is required to continue to provide troponin/CK-MB testing until the equipment included in a new, long-term FSS-BPA, which is currently being procured, is fully implemented and functional. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation will be made available. Any responses received no later than COB February 14, 2019 will be considered for the purposes of determining sources for future procurements. The Government will not pay for information submitted. Any information submitted in response to this notice of intent is strictly voluntary. This will be the only notice of the Government's intent to solicit, negotiate, and award to one source to satisfy this requirement.
