It is anticipated that this will be a brand name only requirement. The intent of the procurement is to award a firm-fixed price contract. The Statement of Work (SOW) defines the effort required for the purchase and delivery of the items to the Tucson VA. Unique Features: The neoprobe will be used for lymphatic mapping and sentinel lymphadenectomy. It is becoming an important surgical technique for assessing axillary status in breast and thyroid cancers. At the time of surgery, the Neoprobe, (a hand-held gamma-ray counter) is held over the axilla to identify the area of greatest radioactivity in counts per second. A background count is established by measuring radioactivity over a neutral site. Award of a firm fixed price contract is contemplated by August 2017. This notice is published to conduct market research to determine if there is a sufficient number of certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) and Small Businesses (SB) capable of performing the requirements to warrant a socio-economic set-aside or full & open competition. It is strongly recommended that interested parties register in the US Department of Veterans Affairs Vet Biz database and the Small Business Administration (SBA) database.
