NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACTThe Bay Pines Veterans Administration Medical Center, Bay Pines, FL 33744 intends to negotiate with Erbe USA INC. Surgical Systems on a sole source basis pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The requirement is to provide (1) VIO 300D Electrosurgical unit. to be on the VA Healthcare system 10000 Bay Pines Blvd Bay Pines Fl 33744 Those who wish to identify their interest and capability to provide an alternate VIO 300D Electrosurgical unit which will meet the capabilities and functionality described above may notify the Contracting Officer in writing, or e mail, no later than 1:00 PM EST on 5 June 2008. Such notification must include a complete description of proposed equipment, including narrative and specifications, and must demonstrate that it meets or exceeds the capabilities described above. Upon receipt of any such notifications, the Contracting Officer will determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement or proceed with sole source negotiations. If no responses are received, the Bay Pines VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with EMC Corporation. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. This purchase will be under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. The anticipated award date is 6 June 2008
