The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) intends to award, on a sole source basis, a purchase order to Protein Sciences Corporation, located in Meriden, CT. The purchase order is for the purpose of obtaining the following IVPS Purified Avian Proteins: (1) H5N1 Purified Influenza Virus Protein (Purified H5 HA from A Vietnam/1203/2004), (2) H1N1 Purified Influenza Virus Proteins (Purified H1N1 A New Caledonia/20/99), (3) HB-B Purified Influenza Virus Proteins (Purified HB B/Jilin/20/2003), (4) H3N2 Purified Influenza Virus Proteins (Purified H3N2 A/Wyoming/3/2003), and (5) H9 Purified Influenza Virus Proteins (Purified H9 A/HongKong/1073/99). The authority for this sole source procurement is FAR part 6.302-1 in that Protein Sciences Corporation is the only known source for these specific protein products used to create elisa tests. This is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. Firms that believe they can provide the required services are encouraged to identify themselves and give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 15 days from the publication date of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
