PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: The VA National Acquisition and Logistic Center will issue Request for Proposal (RFP) VA-797-09-RP-0176 for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for Intra Ocular Lenses (V2630 and V2632). VA purchases approximately 45,360 of these Lenses on an annual basis. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. Specifications for the Intra Ocular Lenses (V2630 and V2632) are as follows:
1. POSTERIOR CHAMBER LENSES (FOLDABLE)-one piece
Hydrophobic acrylic optic and haptics (One Piece IOL) for in-bag implantation
Truncated or modified-truncation configuration of the IOL optic edge
Optic diameter of at least 6.0 mm

The contract period will be for one year plus four one-year option periods. The approximate contract effective date will start on 03/01/2010. Intra Ocular Lenses (V2630 and V2632) will be issued through the local prosthetic activity and given directly to the veterans. If the offeror is not the manufacturer, a signed agreement between the offeror and the manufacturer must be submitted with the offer and remain in effect for the duration of the contract period including the option years. VA will confirm this agreement with the manufacturer. Solicitation No VA-797-09-RP-0176 will be electronically issued in commercial item format in accordance with FAR Part 12 on or about October 19, 2009 with a closing date of 30 days from the solicitation issuance date.
