Notice of Intent for Sole Source

On or about 24 August 2012, the Southern Regional Contracting Office intends to issue solicitation W81K00-12-R-0085 and ultimately a sole source contract to Spectranetics, Corp for the purchase of the GlideLight Laser Sheaths and Lead Locking Devices currently required in support of the Department of Medicine, San Antonio Military Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Items will be ordered during the period of approximately 1 October 2012 - 30 September 2013. However, all responsible concerns may submit a proposal, which will be considered by the agency. The proposal shall include information of sufficient detail to demonstrate that the proposed catheter removal system consists of the same characteristics of Spectranetics' GlideLight Laser Sheaths and Lead Locking Devices for the Spectranetics CVX-300 Excimer Laser system.

The GlideLight Laser Sheaths and Lead Locking Devices are a technically advanced catheterization that will reduce advancement through tough tissue by up to 55% during laser photo ablation. The GlideLight Laser Sheath is an intra-operative removal device to free chronically implanted pacing or defribrillator leads and is only compatible with Spectranetics CVX-300 Excimer Laser system, FDA approved.
