INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE FAR 8.405-6(B)(1) This is a notice of intent of The Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 10701 East Boulevard, Cleveland, Ohio 44106 to negotiate sole source with Cepheid for supplying The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Cleveland, Ohio, Medical Service, with: 2 EA GXXV14ADD GeneXpert sicx color 4-module add-on. This is an add-on (expansion) of current equipment. Cepheid (manufacturer) is the only vendor who can provide this equipment. This is being purchased off of GSA Contract GS-07F-0597T. Per FAR 8.002 (a)(v), Priorities for use of Government supply sources, agencies shall satisfy requirements for supplies and services from or through the sources and publications listed. The Government believes that only one business can satisfy the agency requirements and intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(B)(1)- access to proprietary information. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by Friday November 16, 2012 at 5PM EST. Such capabilities information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
