NOTICE AND INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION & APPROVAL he Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for a Brand Name procurement of Neoprobe Console Model 2400, GDS Dock and portable storage along with 9mm and 14mm reusable probes for the Salem VA Medical Center. This procurement will be made in accordance with 41 U.S.C. ร‚ยง3304(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 referencing only one responsible source. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these items are highly specialized, and only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other substitute will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of 13 August 2019 to Lecia Biosystems (Devicor Medical Supply Inc.)., 300 East Business Way. Suite 500, Cincinnati OH 45241. DUNS 961832156. This is a Brand-Name only requirement to satisfy the minimum requirements of the Salem VAMC Surgical Department. Lecia Biosystems is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) producing the GAMMA NEOPROBE CONSOLE MODEL 2400. The product serves as an addition to the previously outfitted operating rooms in the Salem VAMC. The unique characteristics of this system includes a wireless configuration with an integrated Bluetooth technology. Probes are capable of use in either the straight or angled configuration. System has an internal collimator for the 9mm and 14mm probes which provide ease of use for head and neck surgical procedures. The probes are cable of sterilization by our SPS Sterrad and does not require any calibration prior to set up operations.
