This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. Responses to this Sources Sought must be in writing. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential qualified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, Veteran Owned Small Businesses, 8(a), Hub-Zone and other Small Businesses interested and capable of providing items requested, as well as any large businesses . Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) company name b) address (c) point of contact (d) phone, fax, and email (e) DUNS number (f) Cage Code (g) Tax ID Number (h) Type of small business, e.g. Services Disabled Veteran Owned small Business, Veteran-owned small business, 8(a), HUB-Zone, Women Owned Small Business, Small disadvantaged business, or Small Business HUB-Zone business and (i) must provide a capability statement that addresses the organizations qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below. Description: The Government is interested in gaining knowledge of potential businesses that would be able to distribute and/or provide services with Galil Cryotherapy equipment and corresponding accessories to support patient care. Potential contractors must demonstrate that they are an authorized distributor of these products. Statement of Work: Statement of Work: Interventional Radiology CryoAblation Galil VAMC Salt Lake City - Interventional Radiology (IR) is in need of a 3 year BPA to ensure continued services in cryo-abiliation procedures. One of these IR procedures is an ablation to treat malignant tumors. The ablation procedure is performed by a physician, or Interventionalist, who specializes in these types of invasive procedures. The Interventionalist is normally assisted by a special team consisting of a nurse and an IR technologist. There are two types of IR ablation. One is using cryogenic (cryo) method to destroy (ablation) cancerous cells or tumors found in the lung, liver, breast, kidney and prostate using without the need of general surgery. This can be done as same day surgery lowering the overall cost and risk to the patient. In order to perform the cryo-ablation procedure, it requires a special ablation system and products called needles of which the vendor shall provide. The following responsibilities include: Scope: 3 year BPA o The vendor representative shall bring its Cryo Ablation device to operate, monitor, and assist the VAMC Denver Radiology interventionist in guiding the needles to the abnormal tissue and deliver the appropriate charge to ablate the affected tissue or mass. o The vendor shall bring the appropriate types of accessories and cryoprobes (needles) as trunk stock items. This is to include the proper amount of each item where the Interventionists may determine the correct antenna for the each particular microwave ablation procedure. o The cost of service to include vendor operator time and operation of the Cryo Ablation device and rental fee. In addition, only the accessory items that were used are to be charge for the invoicing. o Maximum purchase quantity is unknown. The number of Cryo Ablation procedures is determined by the VAMC Salt Lake City Radiology Interventionists, and the vendor must be able to provide the service and products at his designation. o No initial stock will be purchased. No stock will be maintained at this agency. o All service and products will be ordered as needed for each individual ablation procedure performed. o Invoices must have the purchase order, must be itemized, and must be HIPPA compliant. o Various Needles are used depending on patient anatomy and size of tumor the following needles shall be provided as part of this contract: IceSphere 90 Degree Cryoablation Needle / FPRPR3560 IceRod CX 90 Degree Cryoablation Needle / FPRPR3533 IcePearl 2.1 CX 90 Degree Cryoablation Needle / FPRPR3601 IceForce 2.1 CX 90 Degree Cryoablation Needle / FPRPR3602 *Technician shall bring all required needles and cryotherapy system equipment required for each procedure. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339113 (size standard to be considered small business is 500 employees).
