NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The Department of Veteran Affairs Southeast Louisiana Health Care System has a requirement for seven (7) ERBE VIO 300D electrosurgical units and argon plasma coagulators and related parts. This product is available solely from ERBE USA, Inc., distributed by PROAIM Americas, Inc. The NAICS code is 334510 and the business size is 1250 employees. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to PROAIM Americas, Inc. The proposed action is for the procurement of ERBE VIO 300D electrosurgical units and argon plasma coagulators and related parts, for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(i). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reasons: To maintain standardization within the Department of Veteran Affairs Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Services. The Department of Veteran Affairs intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to PROAIM using FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than January 20, 2017 at 3:00pm (CST). This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive quotes. However, all responses received by January 20, 2017 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
