The VA Northern Indiana Health Care System intends to issue a sole source procurement to Life Systems, 515 Trade Center Boulevard, Chesterfield, MO 63005 under the authority of FAR 6.302-1.  This procurement is to obtain the Erbe VIO 300D Electrosurgical Unit and accessories.  This is an electrosurgical system intended for coagulating atrioventricular malformations in colon and EGD procedures. It is the belief of the Government that there is currently only one responsible source capable of providing this equipment to satisfy the agency requirement.   A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.  Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.  This is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification, accompanied by supporting evidence in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements, to the contracting officer within seven (7) days from the date of publication of this synopsis.  All responses must be in writing via e-mail to [email protected] or faxed to 765-677-3106.  If no responses are received, VA Northern Indiana Health Care System will proceed with the sole source procurement from Life Systems.
