NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center San Diego (FLCSD), Contracting Department intends to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract to Hologic, Inc. of 35 Crosby Drive, Bedford, MA 01730. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) as cited in Far 6.302-1 due to the abilities of the Horizon DXA system and Hologic’s DXA trade-in program. Commercial procedures will be used. The contract will procure one Horizon-A Advanced Fan Beam DXA for the Naval Health Research Center in San Diego, CA, allowing NHRC to enhance current research efforts and expand on future research efforts. Hologic allows for exchange of their older Discovery QDR scanners for their newer ones, allowing NHRC San Diego to comply with the policy at DFARS 217.7002, exchanging rather than replacing non-excess property. The applicable NAICS code is 334517, business size: 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No formal solicitation package is available. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice; however, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements and past performance data no later than 1730 Pacific Daylight Time on 17 September 2014. All interested parties must show their DXA scanner specifications and ability to exchange Discovery QDR scanners for them. All documents shall be submitted to Alan M.
