PURCHASE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT: Under authority 41 U.S.C. 253 © (1), the Government anticipates entering into a sole source procurement to purchase a Diomed 630 nanometer diode laser for the treatment of superficial bladder cancer for the NF/SG VHS in Gainesville, FL. NAICS code 339112 applies to this procurement. This contract action is for equipment for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302-1 (b) (4) only one responsible source and no other equipment or training will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquistion Procedures of FAR Part 13 in accordance with the Commercial Item Acquisition Format of FAR Part 12. Interested parties will be considered if the response includes a clear understanding that their submission has the identical capabilities of the Diomed 630 nanometer diode laser approved by the FDA in P940010 which provides a combination drug/device for use with the photosensitiser Photofrin® and Optiguide fiber optic delivery system for the purpose of photodynamic therapy in the treatment of superficial bladder cancer. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received on or before September 12, 2007, will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
