INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE The Department of Veterans Affairs, Regional Procurement Office Central, Network Contracting Office 10, intends to enter into a sole source procurement for eMax 2 Plus Electric Handpieces with 5.0cm Short Attachments for the VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System ENT Surgery Service, 2215 Fuller Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a Single Source, the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis with DePuy Synthes Sales, Inc. (DePuy Synthes Power Tools), 4500 Riverside Drive, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 339112 and the Business Size Standard is 1,000 employees. The sole source rationale is based on the Government s belief that DePuy Synthes is the only contractor that can supply the required equipment. The eMax 2 Plus Handpieces are the only acceptable equipment, as the Ann Arbor VA currently owns the eMax 2 System and is only in need of additional handpieces and bur guards for the existing system. This notice of intent is not a solicitation or request for competitive quotes or offers. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete this requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to meet the subject requirement. This information shall be provided at no cost or obligation to the Government.
