The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Intuitive Surgical Inc., 950 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA 94086, to purchase all necessary parts and supplies to upgrade the Firefly Fluorescence Imaging system (8.5mm Endoscopes) of its daVinci Surgical system. These features are essential to the upgrading of this system and the Government's needs. No other company/vendor is able to provide these items for the upgrade since Intuitive Surgical Inc. has sole proprietary rights to these parts and the piece of equipment. They are the manufacturer of it. This Notice of Intent to Sole Source, is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest; accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than July 10, 2013 COB. Responses should be sent to [email protected].
