The Department of Veterans' Affairs, James A. Haley Veteran's Hospital (JAHVH) located in Tampa, FL intends to solicit and negotiate a sole source procurement with Cordis Corporation (Johnson & Johnson) Company for Cyper Sirolimus coated drug-eluting stents in the size of 2.25 mm. These stents will be used in Cardiac Cath lab for interventional procedures. The Cypher stent is used to help open coronary arteries in people who have symptoms of ischemic disease (lack of blood flow to heart) such as heart attack or angina, due to atherosclerosis. This sole source procurement is under authority of FAR 13.501 (a) (ii). These stents are to treat small vessels disease will significantly reduce late lose and target lesion revasculartization in small vessels, where millimeters mater most.
