The Department of Veterans Affairs Mid-Atlantic Healthcare Region (VISN 6) Central Acquisition Service intends to enter into sole source negotiation for a Consignment Agreement with Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Systems, Inc. for Coronary Stents (Cypher). Johnson & Johnson Hospital Services will provide the stents in various sizes and quantities to be readily accessible for the Salem VA Medical Center. The Agreement will be for a twelve month base period with one, one year option period. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 339113 and the Small Business Size Standard (SIC) is 500 employees. This requirement will be awarded on an unrestricted basis. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES and no solicitation will be issued; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within 5 days from the date of the publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the requirement listed. Responses are due by 1/16/2007 at 12:00pm EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
