Under authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c ) (1), the VA Medical Center in Dayton, OH intends to issue a sole source award to Cordis for a consignment agreement to bring Drug-Eluting Cypher Stents onto the VA Facility located at 4100 West Third Street, Dayton, OH, 45428. The stents that are being procured are required to be drug-eluting and to be of the following sizes: 2.5 x 13 MM, 2.5 x 18 MM, 2.75 x 13 MM, 2.75 x 18 MM, 3.0 x 13 MM, and 3.0 x 18 MM. Under a consignment-type agreement, the contractor is responsible for all products stored at the VA facility, until such time as they are purchased and used by VA Medical Personnel. Due to the size, design, and material requirements of these Stents, the VA believes that only one responsible source can provide the supplies/services that will satisfy the agency requirements and intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for competitive proposals. Solicitation packages are not available. The Contracting Officer will make the determination whether to compete this proposed action based on responses received to this notice. All responses received must demonstrate the full capabilities of their product.
