The vitreoretinal microsurgical system is the main instrument necessary for surgical repair of retinal disorders, including retinal detachments, complications of diabetic retinopathy, complications for cataract surgery, macular hole repair, and traumatic ruptured globes. Market research was conducted and determined that sole sourcing this requirement is in the best interest of the Government. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Integrated Service Network (VISN 2) , Northport VAMC intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c)(1)-FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements, to Alcon Laboratories, Inc. 6201 South Freeway, Fort Worth, TX, 76134-2001. Alcon will provide 1 CONSTELLATION LXT, 1 ISPAN C3F8 CONSTELLATION 125GM, 1 ISPAN SF6 CONSTELLATION 125GM, 1 CONSTELLATION FRAGMENTATION HP, 1 ALCON LIO PUREPOINT, 2 PASSIVE DR FILTER ZEISS MOELLER and installation & training as needed to Northport VAMC campuses under FSS Contract# V797P2046D. This action will result in a Firm-Fixed Price contract. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Proposals or Quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone or email inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of proposals, or quotations received in response to this notice. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, and should furnish detailed data concerning their capabilities to provide supplies or services sought including pricing data and technical data sufficient enough to determine that a comparable source to the government is available.
