The VA Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa intends to negotiate a commercial (FAR Part 12) sole source contract with The Blood Center of Iowa, under authority of FAR 6.302-1. A justification for other than full and open competition has been prepared in support of this acquisition. This procurement is for blood, blood products and testing to be supplied on a routine and emergent basis. This FBO announcement is being placed to satisfy requirements in FAR 5.201. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. Persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement and information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
