The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (CCID), National Center for Zoonotic, Vector-borne, and Enteric Diseases in the Coordinating Center for Infectious Diseases (NCVZED), Division of Parasitic Diseases (DPD) is seeking to award a sole source contract for two-hundred (200) Liter Runs of an expression of the protein of interest utilizing an existing baculovirus high-titer virus stock (HTS) supplied by the CDC. The culture supernatant to be shipped will be isolated, concentrated and frozen. A data summary of the expression, (including gel and western data) will be provided with the shipment. The Government has determined that Kemp Biotechnologies, Inc. of Frederick Maryland is the only responsible source for this requirement. The product provided by Kemp Biotechnologies has already undergone validation procedures. It is now required that the same protein from the same process be utilized to develop assays and further research in order to maintain continuity. The Government intends to request quotes on 21 August 2007, with award anticipated by 14 September 2007. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.
