The U.S. Geological Survey, National Wildlife Health Center, Madison, WI has a requirement to obtain Avian Influenza testing kits. The Government intends to make award on a sole source basis to Qiagen for this requirement in accordance with FAR 6.302-1(b)(2). The period of performance is March 26, 2008 through March 31, 2009, with no options. Qiagen is uniquely qualified to provide the products required. Qiagen is the manufacturer of the OneStep RT-PCR kits that are required for use in the Interagency Avian Influenza Surveillance Program as mandated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. There is no written solicitation for this requirement. This award will be made on or about March 26, 2008 under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000.
