The Pacific Regional Contracting Office at Tripler Army Medical Center (TAMC), Hawaii, intends to make a sole source award to Sun Nuclear Corporation for the purchase of Sun Nuclear ArcCheck, DoseLAB Pro, and other miscellaneous hardware products. In order to maintain compatibility with existing government-owned equipment these products are the only ones that can meet the Government's current need. Sun Nuclear products are sold and distributed exclusively. The statutory authority permitting this award without providing full and open competition is 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as cited in FAR 6.302-1(a) which authorizes the government to award contracts when there is only one responsible source and no other suppliers or services will satisfy agency requirements.
