The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has a requirement to provide yearly maintenance service for Beckman Coulter and Sorvall instrumentation in the Biotechnology Core Facility. Most of these systems are used in the production and analysis of reagents used by the LRN laboratories to detect biothreat agents. It is required that the systems are kept running with as little down time as possible. Repair must be done by a Beckman trained and certified technician, who must be able to respond on site to service needs within 24 hours, and all parts for repair must be OEM manufactured Beckman parts. The equipment being covered is as follows: LC127 unit, coverage extending to LC166-UV detector and injector (two units total); LC127 unit, coverage extending to LC508 AutoSampler; LC128 unit, coverage extending to LC168-UV detector, BCIPC computer controller, and the 32KSW software; LC126 unit, coverage extending to BCIPC computer controller, 32KSW, and LC166 UV detector; LC168 UV detector; PACEMDQ-CE instrument, coverage extending to BCIPC computer controller (two units total), Allegra X22R centrifuge, and Allegra 6R centrifuge. Presently we have identified two firms capable of performing this service. While this is not a request for competitive proposals, interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement, and forward past performance information, by close of business December 22, 2006. This procurement is not set-aside for small business.
