This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of VIP-Verified Veteran-Owned Small Business (VOSB) or Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) prospective contractors relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing).
An Alcon Laboratories, Inc. Constellation LXT Vitrectomy/Vitreoretinal System is known to meet the Government s needs. The Government is requesting that VIP-Verified VOSB or SDVOSB sources respond if it can provide the following items on a brand name or equal basis:

System is to offer visual alarms for system issues
System must be able to create/store user profiles for user preferences
System is to offer low-compliance fluidics management system to reduce post-occlusion surge and the ability to sense and respond to both vacuum and infusion pressures.
Probes must deliver minimum of 7500 cpm
System should allow duty cycle and flow control settings independently of vacuum and cut rates.
System should offer port biased open, 50/50, and port biased closed duty cycles
System should automatically adjust light intensity after probe is connected and recognized.
System must hold an integrated laser with voice confirmation, multi-function foot switch controls
On board laser is to offer both posterior segment and anterior segment ophthalmic microsurgeries.
Maximum Weight: 150 lbs
Interested VIP-Verified VOSBs and SDVOSBs are required to submit an e-mail delineating:
Qualifications, capabilities, and experience for providing this product;
Business size/Socioeconomic status;
If the product is on the Federal Supply Schedule or the Open Market; and
Memo or correspondence which authorizes distributor to distribute the manufacturer s products.
This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submissions will not be returned to the sender. VOSBs and SDVOSBs must be registered and verified in VIP for set-aside consideration.
