The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Susquehanna Micro Inc., 198 W. Beaver St., PO Box 6248, Hallam, PA 17406, to purchase the Acutronic Mistral Jet Ventilator, Startup supplies, Anthro cart for Monsoon/Mistral, Drawer with lock, Patient Connecting Tube for Monsoon/Mistral, Bypass flow tube for Monsoon/Mistral, and System training and in-service in accordance with FAR 6.302-1. The Mistral Jet Ventilator and supporting items provides thoracic surgeons the ability to control a patient's airway pressure during surgery. This ventilator has microprocessor technology which allows surgeons excellent visibility and accessibility and alleviates the risk of occluded airways during medical procedures such as bronchoscopy or resuscitation. This notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than Monday, March 8, 2010, 4:30 p.m. Responses should be sent to [email protected]. No telephone responses will be accepted. It is the belief of the Government that there is currently only one responsible source capable of providing this equipment to satisfy the agency requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System will proceed with the sole source procurement from Susquehanna Micro Inc.
