The Naval Air Systems Command intends to place a Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Delivery Order (DO) under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA),
N00019-11-G-0001 with The Boeing Company of St. Louis, Missouri 63166, for the procurement of Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) 6213R2 Trailing Edge Flap (TEF) Redesign. Structural deficiencies were found from testing and teardown analysis involving the "Cocure" Trailing Edge Flap (TEF) involving cracks and other failures. This ECP will replace most of the Cocure structure with a "Honeycomb" based aluminum bond assembly. This effort procures the non-recurring engineering (retrofit and production), ILS, and production recurring for Lots 35 through 37 associated with ECP 6213R2.
Boeing is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F/A-18 aircraft in its various configurations and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise and on-site personnel base necessary to accomplish this effort. Any interested party must have the approved facilities and personnel clearances necessary and also demonstrate its' ability to obtain any required clearances in time to meet the schedule requirements. Any respondent must also submit a Statement of Qualifications to demonstrate their ability to perform to the Government's needs within the required response time.
