Solicitation is for commercial purchase of: Part#:MCC-16R, Mfr:VESITRON – 16 SLOTRACK MOUNT CONVERTERS (9) Part#:M7273S, Mfr:VESITRON - 10/100OPTIC MEDIA CONVERTER (144) FREIGHT CHARGE Brand Name or Equal Justification for Versitron Description: 412 TW has a requirement to sustain and replace aging network media distribution equipment utilized to distribute test data into Mission Control Room Areas. Existing distribution of mission critical Time Space Position Information (TSPI) data for display on Test Evaluation Command and Control System (TECCS) display clients located in RMCC Mission Control Rooms and support areas is performed using dozens of standalone media converters, each with an individual power source. Consolidation of these media converters into multiple unit media centers is needed to centralize data distribution, increase available network bandwidth, simplify power and fiber/copper distribution, patching and circuit problem isolation. The media converters being utilized at this time are manufactured by Versitron. These media converters hold cards specifically made for the media racks (Versitron part numbers MCC-16R and M7273S). No other manufacturer’s cards will fit into the racks. Market research was conducted reviewing product literature published by manufactures, distributors, and dealers available on the internet. Information was also gathered through communication with industry and government personnel. No other known manufacturer’s band was found that could meet the specifications needed for this requirement.
