This is a Notice of Intent to issue a sole source purchase order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures for the purchase of spare parts for a Varian Linatron. This is a follow-on acquisition and due to the unique nature of the product, only one authorized supplier, Varian Medical Systems, Milpitas, CA, is capable of supplying these OEM parts in compliance with Army Radiation Authorization for x-ray units. Any purchase order will be awarded under other than full and open competition as authorized by FAR 6.302-1. This is not a request for offers. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
