The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole source commercial items contract to Irvine Access Floors, Inc. located at 9425 Washington Blvd., Suite Y-WW, Laurel, Maryland, 20723 to provide electrical connection ports, open and closed whips, floor boxes, whip coupling modulars, and 11b junction box plate whip connectors for use with the Communications Intergrators, Inc. (Cii) under floor power distribution system. It is necessary to use genuine Cii parts because these are the only parts that will match the pin configuration. The Pin Configuration of the Cii Wiring System is custom to SSA, and no other manufacturer's materials will fit and operate in the system properly. The use of this brand name description in this acquisition is essential to the Government's requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) FAR Subpart 13. It is SSA's belief that Irvine Access Floors, Inc. is the only source qualified to meet our needs because it is the only authorized distributor of Cii parts and materials for the Baltimore, MD region.
