REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI): The Space and Naval Warfare System Center, San Diego (SSC-SD) is seeking firms for triplexers/modified triplexers. SSC-SD is interested in triplexers with the following specifications: pass bands: 30 to 90 MHz, 150 to 450 MHz, 800 to 2500 MHz. 50 dB of isolation between ports, less than 1 dB of insertion loss, volume less than 5 cubic inches (2.5 x 2.5 x 0.75 inches or 6.4 x 6.4 x 1.91 cm), weight less than 150 g. The two lower pass bands should have BNC female connectors. The upper pass band should have an SMA female connector. The common connector should be BNC female. There must be no degradation of performance if power inputs of up to 5 W are continuously applied. SSC-SD is interested in knowing what the current state of commercial triplexers are, if one can be modified to meet our specifications and a rough order of magnitude estimate for the costs involved in the item and its modification. If not, can one be built to meet these specifications and if so what are the risks and a rough order of magnitude estimate of the costs as well as the time to build. By COB on 5 March 2004, interested firms are to provide a two-page white page that identifies existing triplexers meeting the specification or triplexers that can be modified to the above specifications. As part of your response, provide data sheets for the existing product (not included in page count) and define the needed modifications to the product as well as a rough order of magnitude of cost; and delivery/lead time. If no triplexer exists or can be modified to meet these specifications, please provide a two-page white paper defining what you could do to build one. Also provide information regarding your current involvement with triplexers, the risks involved, a rough order of magnitude of costs and delivery/lead time. This is a request for information only.
