Space and Naval Warfare SystemsCenter (SPAWARSYSCEN) Atlantic
intends to award a commercial, sole
source contract IAW FAR Part 13, to
Precision Filters, Inc., 240 Cherry St.,
Ithaca, NY 14850. The proposed
acquisition is for the procurement of
Precision Filters, Inc. 4164 64X64 Solid
State Switch Matrix System along with
cable and panel sets for the Tactical
Mobile Acoustic Support System
(TacMASS). The Precision Filter 4164
Switch Matrix provides the TacMASS
with the capability to remotely and
manually connect both of the 28 track
analog SYPRIS recorders and
associated hardware together for high
speed data processing and display at
multiple workstations.
The Precision 4164 Solid State Switch
Matrix System provides 64x64
rectangular coordinate switching with
4,096 cross points. The 4164 Switch
Matrix is a robust switching system.
When power is applied to the system it
provides uni-directional signal paths
from the input to the output channels.
When power is removed, switch
settings are maintained in non-volatile
memory and restored at power up. The
system is controlled from the front
panel, remotely using command line
control or by running a graphical user
interface on the TacMASS Control
Processor. The 4164s Built-In-Test
(BIT) Subsystem provides verification
of the system integrity. The Factory
Acceptance Test (FAT) exhaustively
tests all possible switch connections
and reports faults. The Go/No-Go test
checks the current switch setup and
may be run in place with all
input/output cables connected to the
system.
Other features include a spreadsheet
style graphical user interface which
operate under the TacMASS Control
Processor and runs under a Microsoft
Windows environment. The interface
provides for System health monitoring
of the power supply and internal
temperatures. Built-in self-tests, with
reports, exhaustively test switch
settings. Signal switching has a 10
Vpk for each signal path. Input
Characteristics include: Differential
Input 10 Vpk, linear; Common Mode
Input 10 Vpk, linear; Protection 35
Vpk maximum, without damage; Input
Z 1M differential 1%. Output
Characteristics: Output type single-
ended with switch (manual) selectable
ground sense; Maximum Output 10
Vpk at 10 mA pk; Output Z 10.
Transfer characteristics include:
Frequency response DC 0 dB 0.005
