NUWC Newport intends to award a fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Reson, Inc., Goleta, GA for 10 ea. TC4047 Hydrophones. The basis for the sole source is that the hydrophones were developed by Reson and the performance and size is customized for application in monitoring a propulsor system. The proposed action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source using SAP and commercial item procedures as set forth in FAR Parts 12 and 13. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received by the closing date will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Solicitation will be issued in less than 15 days per FAR 5.203(a) & (h).
