Synopsis for N00164-05-R-8925. This commercial requirement is for the repair and testing of Motorola Network Encryption Systems. The quantity, part number, and description for this procurement are as follows: CLIN 0001-46 Each, Motorola Network Encryption Systems (NES). The contractor shall test, repair and/or convert 46 Motorola NES units. The contractor shall troubleshoot the NES units to isolate problems, repair and test the units and return the items in compliance with original certification standards. The contract for this commercial procurement will be a firm fixed price contract for current FY requirements. Solicitation N00164-05-R-8925 will be issued on a sole source basis to General Dynamics C4 Systems, 8201 E. McDowell Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257-3812. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, it has been determined the Government’s requirement for repair of these items can only be met by one manufacturer. No other vendor is capable of satisfying agency requirements. General Dynamics C4 Systems is the manufacturer of this product and these items have security certifications no other vendor can provide.
